Fast Internet...WOW
So I recently got my laptop for school in the fall, and it's pretty amazing. It's an HP, special edition, fast computer. It's got pretty much everything that I could want or need on it. In short I'm in love with it. But where I live I don't get good internet service (it's dial-up, need I say more?). So I've been spending a lot of time at my local library because of the free internet hotspots there. There's so much to do and it just takes to long at home, but the library is a great source for free, fast, internet.
Last night was the Fourth of July and to celebrate me and some of my friends went down to the Tridge and hung out and watched the fireworks. But let me tell you something, the fireworks were not the best I've seen. They were slow and sporadic and short. It was about 20 minutes long, I thought fireworks lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. So where did all the fireworks go? The Loons games. That's my theory. Those darn Loons and their special fireworks.
I've also been filling out applications for jobs this summer, but I think I started too late. I haven't heard back from any of them and so it looks like I'll have one more summer off from work. Although it would be so nice to have extra money to put away.
I've also been getting stuff ready for my apartment I'm moving into next year. There's so much to get, and I know that when I move in there will be stuff that I've forgotten or didn't even think about getting. We'll be able to move in, in August and I'm looking forward to getting everything taken care of and set up. The one thing that my roommates and I need to get is a TV for the living room. We all have tvs for our own rooms but we would like to get a decent one for all of us. So we need to go to garage sales and really look for one.
What I'm Listening To: Sia, the song Pictures, and Breath Me are very good. I don't know a lot about her except that she's from the UK, and I think I've said this before but I'm gonna say it again, but a lot of great bands and singers come from the UK. And there's plenty of proof to backup my theory, for example: Coldplay, U2, Keane, Snow Patrol, Sia, Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini, Cranberries, Badly Drawn Boy, I could go on and on.
What I'm Reading: I don't know if you've ever heard of The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, but if you haven't you must read them. They're historical fiction, my favorite kind of book, and are extremely well written. They are quite long but read quickly. I'm on the third book out of six and I think that's the end of the series so I have a few left.
