G'day Mate!

My best friend Allison got back from Australia and New Zealand after spending more than 20 days there on a People to People trip. She said that she really liked New Zealand, a lot more than Australia. She had said that it would be fun to do a backpacking trip around New Zealand, so that might be something we could do for our senior trip next summer with my other friend Kara. We could do a Lord of the Rings tour. It was so good to have her back, because I haven't been doing much since she left, so she came over on Saturday to hang out. She had brought me back a boomerang and a little koala with a vest on that said 'Australia' and was holding a boomerang, very cute. I got to hear all about her trip while we ate pizza and drank beer, root beer. We watched a couple movies, She's the Man and Something New, both were really good. She had a great time, but it's good to have her back home.

No Power and Look at All Those Weeds

We had a really bad storm on Monday, and we lost power because of it. We had 60 mph winds, and all the trees around our house were swaying back and forth, so my mom thought that we should go downstairs just in case. Nothing hppened but that wind was pretty scary. We found out that we might not be getting power until Thursday midnight, but luckily we got it back Tuesday night around midnignt. And I got to take a shower!

Today I went over to my grandma's house where my vegetable garden is. The whole garden was green. There were so many weeds! The rows were weeds, between my plants were weeds. It took forever to take care of it today. My dad used the tiller between the rows and my brother and I were working on the weeds in the rown, and there were a lot of 'em. We got over there at about 8:30 this morning and we didn't get home til around 12:30, and I'm so tired. My dad helped me so much today and then he had to go to work at 1:30, I love him! I did get some zucchini and new potatoes, some of my favorite veggies, so it was worth getting up abnormally early and sweating my butt off.

Workin' It Out

I have a hard time with sticking to any type of diet, whether it's the Slimfast diet or just eating healthy. I sometimes find myself making a cake and then eating some of the batter. I just can't help myself. So, I'm trying to workout everyday to counter the "cake problem." I thought, "I should go running everyday," but I come to find out that no matter what time of day it is, it's always hot. Not a dry summer hot, but a muggy, sticks to your skin kind of hot. So, I've decided that running outside wouldn't be the greatest idea. But there is another option: the Ab Lounge! The Ab Lounge is downstairs in my basement sitting right in front of the TV. Perfect position to excercise in. So I tried it out, but I seemed to be watching the TV more than I was excercising. Maybe I should use the excercise bike or lift weights or even do 500 situps in a row. Or maybe I could just make a cake.

Pirates and the World Cup

I recently saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I really enjoyed the second installment of the Pirates trilogy, but I wished the ending had more of well, an ending. The movie just kind of stops and leaves you hanging, which I guess is supposed to bring people back for the third and final movie, but that dosen't come out until next summer. I really liked seeing Johnny and Orlando again, I mean who wouldn't? I think they did a good job even though the movie hasn't gotten such great reviews. But I would say, don't listen to the reviews, they don't know what they're talking about most of the time.

Italy won!!! I'm really glad, I was rooting for them throughout the World Cup. Well, them and Brazil, but Brazil didn't make it as far as they should have. I thought that France's Zidane should have kept his cool, they might have won if he hadn't got a red card during the second half and France had to continue with only 10 players. I mean the man came out of retirement for his country and he can't handle his temper in the World Cup FINAL! What an idiot. Anyway, I'm glad Italy won, they played well all the way through the tournament and deserved to win. Let's hope the US team can do a little better next time, although I don't have much faith.
